About the event

New to linocut? This calm, friendly one-day workshop is designed as a gentle introduction to making a multi-coloured linocut print using the jigsaw technique.

You’ll be guided step by step through the whole process, starting with a simple design and working at a manageable 10 x 15 cm size. You’re welcome to bring an image to work with - ideally one that can be easily separated into several blocks of colour - and you’ll receive clear guidance ahead of the workshop to help you choose something suitable.

On the day, with plenty of support and clear demonstrations, you’ll cut, ink, and print your linocut at a relaxed pace. There’s no pressure to get things “right” - this workshop is about enjoying the process and building confidence.

You’ll print your work on Agnes, the Victorian Albion printing press, and you can also use quick-drying stamping inks that are ideal for continuing to print at home after the workshop.

By the end of the day, you’ll take home your carved jigsaw linocut block and a small selection of prints. Your favourite print will be window-mounted and wrapped in cellophane, ready to gift or keep.

All materials are included.

Suitable for complete beginners — no previous experience needed.
