About the event
As part of Somerset Art Weeks 2026, join artist and Plein Air champion Lisa Takahashi for a day of painting outdoors with fellow artists.
No previous experience required, this is an inclusive day where anyone can come and try painting the beautiful views seen at Nynehead Court. Bring whatever medium you wish to work with - oils, acrylics, watercolours, pens or printmaking kit, it's all welcome!
We will meet at 10am with an introductory talk by Lisa, followed by a quick demo of how to start a painting for those who would like some pointers. You will be invited to pick a spot and paint until 2.30pm, when we will recovene at the Orangery where we will have a look at all the works created and restore our energy with complimentary tea and cake.

End of day tea/coffee and cake - and a chance to view the exhibition at the Orangery in the company of the exhibiting artists Lucy Rodgers (printmaker), Catherine Hounsell (textiles artist) and Lisa Takahashi (painter/printmaker).

Includes access to the plein air day, invitation to the plein air demo with Lisa Takahashi, and end of day complimentary tea/coffee and cake. By purchasing a ticket you agree to the following: Attendees are responsible for their own safety - please avoid trip hazards and stick to paths where possible. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. You will respect the premises and not trample any flowerbeds. You will take away all your litter and leave no trace at Nynehead Court.
