Seascapes in Linocut

Spend a relaxing day creating a bold seascape linocut print in this one-day workshop.

You’ll be guided step by step through designing, carving, and printing a single-block linocut inspired by the sea. Using a photo, sketch, or collage, you’ll develop your seascape design, transfer it onto lino, then carve and print your own artwork. Along the way, you’ll explore inking techniques that bring out the movement and textures of waves, shorelines, skies, and coastal forms.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a relief print studio equipped with a Victorian cast iron Albion printing press. You’ll take home a carved linocut seascape of your own making (10 × 15 cm), along with a small edition of prints. Your favourite print will be window-mounted and wrapped in cellophane - ready to gift or keep as a memento from your day at Isle Print Studio.

All materials are included, and the skills you learn can easily be continued at home.

About the studio

Isle Print Studio is located at Monks Dairy Workshops, Isle Brewers. There is free parking on the doorstep, as well as free Wi-Fi. The fee includes all materials, use of the kitchen (including microwave and fridge for packed lunches), and complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits.
