I love to teach Multi-block linocut printmaking! The principle is that each colour of an image is cut from a separate block to the next colour. This allows you to have colours size by side as well as overlapping. If you use transparent colour inks, the overlapping colours can create colour mixes on the page. The process is exciting and very satisfying!
This group were a particularly imaginative group of artists, and many played with varying the transparency of the colour as well as inking up each block with multiple colours. It all got very technical and resulting prints reflect a lot of deep thinking as well as a playful approach with the process.
If your art group or print studio would like to learn multi-block linocut printmaking with me, please don't hesitate to email me and we can arrange something!
